A pilgrimage from Mission San Rafael Arcángel to Mission Dolores in San Francisco, inspired by St. Francis of Assisi and the historic mission trails of California.
Please read carefully as you prepare for the pilgrimage. This pilgrimage calls for flexibility, openness to God, and a willingness to step outside your comfort zone. Thank you for coming with a prayerful and adaptable spirit.
If you have questions, feel free to email Rodney at [email protected]. Response times may be delayed during heavy preparation periods.
Forecasts can change quickly.
Please come prepared to walk in rain if needed, and dress in layers (many people warm up quickly once walking).
For each day, it is recommended to park at the day’s end point and take a rideshare (Uber/Lyft) to the starting point.
Do not leave valuables in your car.
On Weekends, please note that Golden Gate North Vista Point is closed to traffic from 11:00 AM–5:00 PM on weekends, so do not plan to park there for the day.
Pilgrims who would like a Pilgrim Passport (stamped at churches along the way) and a shell necklace are can be purchased for $10 from the Mission San Rafael Gift Store, Cathedral Gift Shop, & Mission Dolores Gift Shop.
Pilgrim Groups of 10 or more people are asked to contact Rodney at [email protected] two weeks before beginning of pilgrimage to help coordinate your group’s visit.
Pilgrims Compostelas and Certificate of Distance are available at Mission Dolores Gift Shop. Please see here for details on requirements.
If you are unable to get your passport stamped at a sacred site because it is closed or stamp is not available, pilgrims are asked to take a digital photo in front of location.
